Sibling Rivalry

Sparks flickered in the air, painting jagged lines across a shaded battleground. Tension suspended the atmosphere about the two warriors. Their reflecting chestnut irises dared the other to glisten wrong, to expose the weakness that would lead to the owner's defeat. Two sisters, both armed with pens of differing mediums, showed no sign of defeat, much to the anxiety and amusement of the off-screen writer waiting to know the result.

Light glinted off the goggles of Yang, casting rays of white towards her older sister. "You cannot do this."

Freya tilted her head, deflecting the words with the shield of her apposite hat. "I really don't see how you believe I can't."

Yang angled her left shoulder forward; when her right moved back, the red fireburst on her shirt glared forth. The black ribbon on her upper arm swayed as a warning. "He's my character."

Freya brought her right arm under her chest, her fingers linking in the hollow of her left elbow. Her glare tightened. "Did you or did you not give me drawing rights?"

Yang didn't falter, matching her sister's defiance. "That doesn't mean you can—"

Freya tilted her head a smidge, encouraging her hat to give her face a shadow. "Sorry, but I think Hiro will look rather well in a dress."

Neither sister noticed the newcomers to the scene; the off-screen writer intervened before the clash of sparks sniffed them out.

"I heard my name. What's—"

"Nothing, Hiro. Mitexi, take him out of here before bad things start happening to all of us."

"What's that supp—"

"Come on, Hiro. It's best to just live in ignorance with these people at the switch."

Okay. Random scene. *Freya03 has done a lot of things for myself, particularly for Broken Requiem, and I wanted to say thank you. I don't know her extremely well, but I thought a little "creative difference" scene might offer some amusement.

Okay. I said I wasn't going to free-hand hair anymore... *Sigh* Shame I have no self-control when it comes to these lovely and dangerous sisters. I kid. More irony: this is a gift for *Freya03, yet it was ~Onyx-Twilight that required the most detailing and revisions. Good thing she's a good writer and friend.

To Freya03, I hope you like my pathetic attempt at clothing -- I honestly don't do outfits off the top of my head; why do you think Mitexi wears an Organization coat? Oh, I know you didn't want accessories, but I couldn't resist doodling that awesome hat.

And yeah, the sparks suck, but until I find a good reference pic, I'm going with "free-handing hair and clothes destroyed my ability to doodle".
