THE EXCHANGE MEME by DEADGP

1. Well you can't go entering an OCT without a character or three now can you? Why not introduce him/her/them/it?
Hiro: My designation is i23, codename: Obsidian Enigma. But I prefer Hiro.
Mitexi: My codename is: Dancing Darkness, my peers are to call me i24, but I wish people would stick with Mitexi. I would prefer not to be considered an experiment down here, too.
2. Wow, interesting! And what soul do they want back so badly that they'd risk eternal damnation in an endless labyrinth of PURE TERROR?!
Hiro: Mitexi and I are going to attempt retrieving Terra, the third member of A.L.P.H.A..
Mitexi: Our third teammate, Terra. It's...my fault she was lost to us.
3. How noble. Well now that the formalities are out of the way, what do your characters think of good ol' Death?
Hiro: I find him to be nothing more than intriguing; offering just enough information to keep you from knowing the entire truth, I suppose.
Mitexi: *Wonders about the interviewer's mildly sarcastic tone* He's...not what I would have pictured for the essence of Death, though he is interesting to observe. His personal quirks are a challenge to categorize.
4. If your character(s) were to spend a day in the city of Nothing, what would they do? (Gamble, get hookers and blow, enjoy some fine dining, etc.)
Hiro: I'd spend that time trying to be familiar with the city, as well as using time to get to know Mitexi a little more. She isn't one to spare words, but a conversation or two wouldn't hurt since we're both here.
Mitexi: *Suspicious about the question choice* There's going to be time to "spend" in the city? I thought Death was taking us straight to the tournament?
5. It's the final round of the tournament and your characters are a part of it! BUT they suddenly realize how they could escape the Labyrinth and return home to the mortal world. Would they escape eternal damnation or still fight for their prized soul?
Hiro: I came here to bring Terra back to the mortal world. I'm not leaving without her unless I die trying.
Mitexi: *Suckles bottom lip for a moment* But...I thought the point was to save our lost soul. Why bother fighting so hard and make it to the end just to run away? Your questions seem rather nonsensical.
6. Death hit a pothole of divine proportions and has to replace a tire. Would your character(s) give him a hand with the repairs?
Hiro: If he needs assistance, may as well offer it to him since I may have a chance in saving one of my own by entering his tournament.
Mitexi: No. If his truck is so precious to him, or so I've heard, then he shouldn't have hit that obstacle to begin with. There was no one on the road at the time, and he had plenty of space to avoid it. I would observe his reaction to this delay and contemplate his methods of movement and action.
7. Your characters have grown tired of Sympathy for the Devil on loop in Death's truck. If given the chance, what one song would they prefer to listen to the whole way down? (ONLY ONE YOU INDECISIVE WHORE)
Hiro: Anything relaxing, something instrumental I guess. Even the sound of falling rain would be enough.
Mitexi: *Crosses arms* You're not a good observer, assuming I have grown tired of something so freely. But since you asked, I stopped listening to the song after it played through once, turning my attention to the landscape and the night outside of the truck, so making a request is moot.
8. I apologize for that outburst. How would your characters react to such language?
Hiro: *Quirks an eyebrow* ...Was that really necessary?
Mitexi: *Purses lips* You weren't paying attention to my body language or expression earlier?
9. Reverse the roles! What would it be like if the soul being fought for was your character and it was trying to save your current team's soul(s)?
Hiro: Knowing Terra...she wouldn't exactly approve of Mitexi and I risking our lives to save her. She'd force us to go back before it was too late.
Mitexi: *Sighs* Your wording for this question is complicated, so I'll assume I heard you right and say that I would stop Terra at any cost if I found out she was trying to save my soul. She is...was a bright, wonderful girl with a lot of potential and a beautiful heart. *Pauses for a moment* I wouldn't want her to throw it all away for a selfish, shadow of a human.
10. Death got pulled over for reckless driving. Would your characters help hide 'the stash'?
Hiro: I doubt anyone would even know of 'the stash' being back here.
Mitexi: Why should I involve myself with his dealings? He wanted participants for his tournament and I agreed to join because of the prize. I owe him nothing.
11. Haha, silly. 'The stash' was just some Lucky Charms. Anyway, how determined are your characters to find some crazy loophole that would allow them to escape the inescapable Labyrinth?
Hiro: Even if I found one, it isn't worth it if I don't have Terra and Mitexi with me. We're escaping together, no one's leaving on their own.
Mitexi: *Tilts head and narrows gaze on interviewer* You honestly believe Death will have loopholes in a tournament meant to collect souls for himself?
12. Would your characters be interested in letting defeated characters tag along if their group size permitted it?
Hiro: No, I refuse to "replace" Terra with someone who may have a temporary alliance with me.
Mitexi: *Shrug* If they seem harmless and will not get in the way of Hiro or myself, I see no reason to stop them.
13. Did your characters use the restroom before they left with Death? Because there are no rest stops on the highway to hell and those restrooms in Nothing are downright nasty.
Hiro: *Sigh*
Mitexi: You are a strange, perverted person.
14. Admit it: You noted the host of this here tournament and asked how Death would react to your characters trying to inconvenience him. Did anything sound like it would piss Death off?
Hiro: If it did, that's his problem.
Mitexi: Noted? *Shakes head* Whatever. I'm not out to "piss Death off", but if it happened, then he's more sensitive than he lets on.
15. LAST QUESTION: One of your team members has died. Would your other characters opt to save the prize soul or attempt to revive their fallen friend? If your character is alone, would they have grown close enough to a tag-along to save them had one of them died instead of the prize?
Hiro: ...The mere thought of losing Mitexi devours what remains of my sanity. *Bows head and turns around* I can't bear losing her... I'd do anything to keep her from dying.
Mitexi: I will die before I let anything happen to Hiro.
CONGRATULATIONS you've completed this horrible meme. Now give yourself a high five and get back to work, lazy ass.
Hiro: ...Right.
Mitexi: .... Lazy ass?? Meme? Who are you talking to?
