The replicated Riku thrust his sword into the final Shadow. He pulled the blade up right after, splitting the Heartless; black rain pelted a drenched body, though most of it blended into his obsidian chest.
Soul Eater fell to the ground, bled black, and "Riku" forced his way out of Vexen's lab.
The Heartless blood was taking longer to evaporate, leaving the replica slick and tainted. He was becoming numb to the irony of being painted like a creature with no heart.
Until those azure eyes found him; shimmering with tears as she realizes the stain will never leave him.

...perhaps.
I like the imagery here. There just this overwhelming feeling of darkness up until the end. With the blue eyes. ^_^

Yes! Just when you thought the angst couldn't increase

Wow. If I had an angst meter, it'd be broken. Replica Riku is off the charts! O_O Do you think Replica Riku is a bad person? I mean, I saw him interact with Riku, but it was in Japanese. -_- I wish I could understand them.

Okay, I'll try to summarize CoM for you.
Basically, Marluxia wanted Namine to alter Sora's memories to make him a puppet for the Organization. However, when Vexen suspected that Marluxia might be trying to overthrow the Superior (which he was), he copied Riku's memories and made a replica who was sent to battle Sora. (Riku was in the basement of Castle Oblivion).
What Namine did, was replace Kairi in Sora's memories, with herself. So, instead of remembering things that happened with Kairi, Sora remembered them with Namine. Now, she did the same in Repliku's memories, therefore, Repliku had no concern about anything except protecting Namine, especially "protecting" her from Sora. The major conflict was this one memory where they were both with Namine at the time, except only one was there -->
Sora speaks of a memory where the stars were falling and he swore to protect Namine (Kairi), and she gave him a Paopu charm (which was the Oathkeeper charm altered in appearance). Repliku had the same memory, but he was the one making the promise.
Obviously, they fought with each other over it. Near the end, Repliku is told that he is just a replica with fabricated memories (but he does fight to protect them and Namine anyways). Once Marluxia is dealt with, Axel brings him to the basement, and it's assumed Repliku kills Zexion, but nothing is made clear. Then he goes to fight Riku and fades away when he s defeated.

I feel badly for Replica Riku. Gosh.
Also kinda makes me mad that Namine would tamper his memories like that. Though...I know it wasn't by choice. It was like Replica Riku didn't have a say in the matter.
It reminds me of a song Chris Rice sings: "So you had no choice if your eyes were blue or brown. Or the color of your skin. Or if dad would stick around."
Kinda makes me think that it alludes to life. Like...we have no say so whether or not where we're born or the circumstances that follow until we're old enough to take charge. But even then, the environment in which we lived has already affected us...
AHHH! I'm falling back into Philosophy! NOOO!

And yes, there's so much that can be brought to Repliku, especially when you consider that he's not even human. Namine tampered with Sora's memories, but he at least has a life of a normal person. Repliku cannot have that comfort, even after realizing his memories are his own.
